June saw four lively, well attended sessions with the usual informal relaxed atmosphere. Numbers were in the 70’s but the size of the venue and people coming and going it managed to avoid feeling busy.
The Art table has moved to a side area we have recently been allowed to use which offers much better light which has been greatly appreciated. Our many heaters have not been needed this month but we could do with some cooling fans now!
The regular Drama lead is taking a break but another person who regularly attends has run a couple of successful sessions and we have other volunteers who have shown an interest in getting involved.
People were asked to give feedback on services this month as part of an independent review of services and many people welcomed the opportunity to have their say on services! Hopefully not all bad?
One of our very valued committee members had some great news this week and gave us a quote for the blog:
Please remember to come a buy a sausage at the Sausage Sizzling fundraising event on 11/12 August called at Bunnings Warehouse. You can find the event on Facebook. We raised all the money for the Christmas fish and chips via this event last year so we’re pleased to have another opportunity.
Very sadly we had the news of the death of a much loved regular at the Mix - Colin. He attended one of the very first drop ins and continued to attend often saying how much he valued the warm welcome he received. Colin was a much loved character by many at the Mix and will be very missed.
The cover photo this month is of 26ft tall statue of local man Greg Metherford “The-Leaping-Man” in Milton Keynes.
