July has been a challenging month with the move to Unity Park Station. I’m pleased to say by the end, we are beginning to find out feet. Derek the Manager at Unity Park Station has been excellent in making the transition so much easier.
Our numbers have been much decreased this month with the change of venue, on average just 50 people came each week. This is to be expected. When we have changed the dates previously (e.g. due to bank holidays) attendance declined. We will work on promoting the new venue, and how to get here, through word on mouth and online in the coming months.
Citizens Advice were extremely busy every week. Richard has been working hard to see everyone who comes to see him and we now have 2 offices, which gives them the privacy they need. This is a great bonus of moving to Unity Park. We didn’t have this before!
We obtained a portable used pool table, which was put into use on the 29th July. This was welcomed by many, they had been missing the interaction (and a little rivalry!) they had before.
Art Group is being well attended in a room we have at the rear of the building, with Janet and Monika.
Samaritan volunteers gave us extra help this month. We had little shortage of our own volunteers and they stepped in to help there too. If you, or anyone you know is looking for rewarding volunteer work once a week in Milton Keynes please get in touch!
Please note the change of open Committee Meeting to; Monday 16th September at 12.00pm at Unity Park Station.
The cover photo this month is of our very own Cynthia, serving coffee.
