Despite it being a short month we were kept very busy! There was lovely weather so many people were making the most of our outside space enjoying the unbelievable sunshine here in Milton Keynes!
Attendance was again in high 70’s each week. We have many regular but we also see new people too. An increasing trend is people inviting their friends which is testament to the quality of the group.
Art group has missed Stephen this month due to illness, we send him our best wishes and look forward to him being able to come back to us again soon.
The pool table was a major draw again this month. It’s always a place of noisy chatter and laughter. Lots of people enjoying the competition.
Citizens Advice has helped many people again this month and we were very pleased to have had the Samaritans join us on the 4th February.
The Samaritans are going to join us for the first drop-in each month from now on. They will also attend other weeks if they have people. They are available for people to chat about any issues troubling them.
Now for not such good news… It was with great sadness and shock that we learned this month that would be without the support of a number of key people who work for the council, who have been involved since the very beginning of The Mix.
A special mention here to Mel, who had the initiative and passion to set up The Mix. Her vision was for The Mix to be run in conjunction with careers and service users. Now is the time to put that to the test!
We held our AGM on the 19th February, followed by a Committee Meeting.
Next Open Committee Meeting is on the 15th April, 11.30 at the Point. All are welcome to join!
The cover photo this month is of Aspley Heath in Woburn.
