Despite the short month and cold weather much happened with attendees remaining consistency high in the 70’s.
On the 12th February we celebrated our 100th session, with balloons and a large cake. Unfortunately, the 100 candles on the cake set off the fire alarm and resulted in us having to evacuate the building briefly, whoops! Some pictures from the day are below.
On the 19th February we held our AGM before the session. Many thanks to all those who had contributed to another successful year. There was a summary of our income and expenditure by our Treasurer Jeremy. We discussed our needs going forward. Replacement pool table was high on the list, along with art and drama products. We also discussed how we could raise further funds to enhance the experience of the drop-in. Another Sausage Sizzling weekend was a favourite and will be booked!
A short survey was circualted this month to collect feedback as to why people come to the The Mix. We will got many responses over two sessions and we will publish the output on this website shortly.
Art Group was, as usual, well attended. This month they have been trying out new pastels and acrylic paints kindly supplied and brought in by our new volunteer Steven, adding inspiration to try new things.
Our Drama Group leader Paulina is still struggling with a very painful hand injury so the session didn't run each week during February unfortunately. Plans are still well underway for a performance in April, which we are all looking forward to!
Wendy and Richard from CAB had another busy month, helping many to resolve issues impacting their lives.
We had a fantastic surprise this month, being told we are to receive an award for The Mix on the 7th March. More about that in our next blog…
Next Open Committee Meeting is on the 19th March at 11 30am. Everyone welcome to attend.
