Another enjoyable month at The Mix with around 70 people coming to each session during the month including many new faces.
We are delighted to announce we will be receiving support from Greggs Foundation Local Community Projects Fund. This is going towards various items including an pool cues and call, an Xbox, TV and games. The pool table is next up!
The art session has really taken off this month with Janet, Barbara and Steven being kept busy. There's a number of fantastic paintings being produced and Janet now has a much-needed drying rack to store them in.
Drama group have been getting their parts learnt for the concert but unfortunately, due to illness, Paulina was unable to attend the last few sessions in April and will not be back for the first two weeks in May. We wish her a speedy recovery. For that reason, we have needed to postpone our May concert. A date in June will be scheduled shortly.
As ever, the CAB has been delivering invaluable advise to many attendees and we are grateful for their continued presence at The Mix.
During April we presented 33 attendees with a series of statements and asked them which four were most applicable to their experience with the service:
Why Do You Come To The Mix?
We are pleased to see that the social aspects (meeting, talking, change of routine) all score very highly.
Whilst The Mix offers accessible routes to essential local services, a key objective of the service is to promote wellbeing. We believe social exclusion is key challenge in modern society and anything that encourages community should be encouraged.
Our next Open Committee Meeting is being held on the 11th June… All welcome
