Throughout April, The Mix continued to be well attended and numbers remain in the mid 60’s.
As a result of the drop-in taking place on Monday we have lost 17th to a Bank Holiday, we have 2 more in May, 1st & 29th, however, we will still be open for 3 sessions in May, see you there.
The Art group continues to be valued and well attended, inviting anyone interested to join in, this is a very informal session. The Art table sits within the heart of the Drop-In where everyone is welcome to take part.
Drama, under the guidance of Paulina is very popular, everybody currently attending remains enthusiastic and happy to be part of it. Despite there being regular attenders all newcomers are always given a very warm welcome. The Drama session takes place in a separate room off the main drop-in area, and enthusiastic noises can often be heard. On occasions we have needed to reassure people this is the group being encouraged to express their emotions.
CAB continue to attend and we now have 2 dedicated workers, Richard & Wendy who offer valuable advice, support and casework to anybody who attends The Mix. Ben Thomas, CEO of CAB MK is a Mix committee member and is offering valuable support and advice regarding the future of the service, behind the scenes.
The Mix now has a secretary Paul Dulliu, who mans a dedicated telephone line for the drop-in for 2 hours on Monday mornings, and has worked with Ben Thomas to produce leaflets. Paul will be offering support with publicity and communication, and we are very pleased to welcome him to the committee.
