Another busy week with 48 people attended the group today, including nine new, who were given a warm welcome.
Staff from The Citizen Advice Bureau, Compass, Recovery and Rehabilitation team were also in attendance as well as 2 CPN’s from Westcroft and the Families and Carers support team.
It was wonderful to welcome so many new people visiting the group today and others returning, who came the first time, not knowing anyone there. The friendly atmosphere found at the group, makes that first visit so much less daunting.
We had our first session with Citizens Advice attending, anyone there can get help and advice from them and several did this week
Art group was, as usual, well attended with 12 people taking part and Sarah’s cakes were also a hit. This week it was a Lemon Drizzle, Victoria Sponge and Apricot Flapjacks.
The group is starting a “Swop Shop” on the 25th July, where anyone can bring along and swop things they have at home for others unwanted ones. There was much laughter when one person said they could bring their family along and swop them, another suggested her husband.
One of the service users asked us to add a special comment from him on the blog this week to say: "Coming to The Mix, has enabled me to meet many new friends."
