The promise of festive fish and chips proved to be a significant lure with attendance this week at a record 83! A huge thank you to Cynthia who organised the man with a van (who ended up parking illegally by the side of the point- oops).
He made 63 fish and chips in total and the feedback was good- big portions, hot and tasty. Cynthia brought some mushy peas and sauces which were equally well received- cheers.
We realised that the Point was ideal for a busy lunch venue so we will hopefully plan more for the future.
We had live music for the last hour provided by Pete Coyne, a local CPN, who many people recognised from his usual role. He played his guitar and sang and was very much enjoyed- thanks Pete. He took a break in the middle of his set and a new person called Jo requested to ‘do a turn’. He sang a romantic Elvis ballad without accompaniment and was absolutely fantastic- where has he been hiding?
In general the session today felt like a big friendly celebration and was a fitting end to the year the Mix came into being. So many friendships have been made and hopefully lifelines created.
Thank-you to all those who have been involved in the drop in and long may it live!
